Canal Street Cutlery to Expand
Grant Secures Eight New Ellenville Jobs

ELLENVILLE – Over a three-year period, Canal Street Cutlery (CSC) will receive a $75,000 grant from the Empire State Development Corporation (ESD), which will lead to the creation of eight new jobs, said Ulster County Executive Mike Hein. The funds will help Canal Street purchase new equipment needed to expand its current product line, Hein announced at a grant award ceremony Dec. 29 at the company's Canal Street facility......

Season brings theater success About 100 miles north of Manhattan sits a small 148 seat theater. And while that theater may be far from Broadway, our Beth Croughan found that might be what's bringing it such success.
ELLENVILLE, N.Y. -- In the middle of January, it's snow that's lining Canal Street in Ellenville. But come here on a Friday or Saturday night in the middle of the summer...
"Our rising complaint is that parking is hard to come by now. Which is a great complaint to have," said Brendan Burke, the Producing Artist Director at the Shadowland Theater.
And finding a seat was a bit difficult too. Almost half of the 2010 shows at the Shadowland Theater sold out. Ticket sales increased by six percent from 2009. And overall attendance was around 90 percent for the season, a new high......read more
